This book hits the ground running with actionable ideas from the very first chapter. I love that the author shares her own experiences working with children, and gives practical examples of how she was able to get reluctant learners excited about science by using the strategies in the book. It also points out child-friendly online resources, and my favorite part was the common challenges and quick fixes section at the end of most chapters (because we all know that working with children can be really tricky!).
As a mom of a 9 year old and a middle school child, I felt that I could adapt a lot of the suggestions to both age groups. While some ideas are targeted towards classrooms or larger groups, I found that most suggestions will work well for smaller groups or even one-on-one projects at home.
This is definitely a book that I'm going to back to again and again, because it has a ton of practical ideas, clear guidance, and encouragement.

This book intertwines the principles of Montessori education with hands-on STEAM activities, offering a variety of strategies that are both practical and imaginative. I particularly appreciated its detailed frameworks for lesson planning so that you can integrate art, technology, and experiential learning into any science lesson, while respecting the distinct Montessori ethos, and its clear breakdown of common challenges and solutions. This guide is a great introduction for any educator interested in an interdisciplinary and hands-on approach to science education.
